Education
I was drawn to oral healthcare, and the orthodontic specialty, from a desire to take care of people while building connections. Prior to becoming a practicing orthodontist, I completed the following:
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, minor in Chemistry, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude – Brigham Young University
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), Valedictorian – Texas A&M College of Dentistry
- Master’s degree and Orthodontic Certificate – St. Louis University
Experience
I had the pleasure of owning my own practices in East Texas for 10 years. We had locations in Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Crockett, and Center that all did very well due to the kindness and support of the people and their local communities. We miss them so much; such wonderful people!
The best part of being an orthodontist is having the ability to engender confidence and create value in my patient’s smile and appearance. Orthodontic treatment creates a beautiful and engaging smile and modifies facial structures and growth. My patients finish treatment with improved oral health and function, along with radiant smiles.
Because orthodontic treatment takes time, I get to know each patient on a personal and professional level. Having the opportunity to build fulfilling long-term relationships with patients and their families is gratifying. I enjoy learning about people’s interests and activities, hearing their plans and dreams for the future, and celebrating their accomplishments through school, work, and other interests.

Through these organizations and study groups, I actively further develop my knowledge and skills. Continuing education is integral to understanding the progressive nature of orthodontic treatment. It allows me to stay abreast of the most recent advances in science and artistry, so I can more aptly bring each patient a beautiful and engaging smile.
Family
I grew up in Carrollton, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. When my parents and siblings moved out to the Carolinas, my family followed as fast as we could! I have three kids, two sons, and a daughter, plus a straight-haired Labradoodle. Yes, our home can be busy at times. We love it!
Extracurriculars
Time with family, church activities, and service are my greatest passions. I also love many outdoor activities, including mountain biking, wakeboarding and wake surfing, one-wheeling, skydiving, and traveling.
